Led by another strong tournament by Central Washington star Tanner Barnes, and with some snappy offloading out of contact, the Chicago Lions won the Rock n Roll 7s in Cleveland Saturday, to regain 1st place in the Midwest 7s Series.

Chicago had been first all along, but a player paperwork mistake forced them to forfeit points from their first event, dropping them into a tie with 1823 for 2nd.

Dan Wright scored two tries and Barnes and Peter Tiberio also ran in tries for the Lions, who were tested by two Dominic Mauer tries which made iot 19-12, but scored twice late to seal it.

With this victory, Chicago, which has won every tournament it has played in during the Midwest 7s Series, is back in first, with 1823 2nd and the Milwaukee Barbarians 3rd. (Correction - Milwaukee and 1823 flip - 1823 is 3rd)
