Long Island defeated a solid Old Blue team to take the second Northeast Regional Qualifier hosted by Monmouth Rugby Club.

On their way to the Cup playoffs, Long Island went undefeated in bracket play. They defeated White Plains and Mystic in convincing fashion. After losing 26-7 to Old Blue last weekend, Long Island found a way to breakdown Old Blue for a 22-17 victory in the rematch. Old Blue finished with two wins and one loss placing them in second place in Pool B.

Middlesex continued their unbeaten streak in Northeast Qualifiers with a perfect record in pool play. Middlesex defeated Boston 28-19 in their first match and handed Morris a 35-14 loss in the final game of pool play. Their toughest test came from NYAC as the Barbarians overcame a 17 point deficit to win 21-17. Morris defeated NYAC to take second place in the group with a two and one mark.

The semi-finals started with a rematch of last weeks championship match. Old Blue ultimately outlasted Middlesex, earning a birth in the Cup Final. In the other semi-final, Long Island defeated Morris setting a rematch between Old Blue and Long Island.

In the Plate Final, Morris defeated Middlesex 21-17.

In a high scoring affair, Long Island ran away from Old Blue 34-19 to take the second leg of the Northeast Qualifiers. The victory, coupled with Middlesex falling to 4th means Long Island and Middlesex are tied for 1st.
