Head Coach Evan Haigh, who also coaches the Old Puget Sound Beach Men, and 7s legend Waisale Serevi have been involved with the team, and they are raising interest among players.

“We’ve developed a really nice system within the Seattle team,” said Haigh. “The team has a good chemistry with the men’s team, and we’ve got a lot of young talent.”

Not least of which is Nate Serevi. The 17-year-old daughter of Waisale is tall, smart, and talented.

“She’s still in high school but, yeah, she’s got a lot of potential,” said Haigh.

Carly McKinnon of Washington State, Katherine MacKenzie out of Chico State, and Jesenia Torres are all part of the team’s youth movement.

The Breakers will be without Chau Vo, who blew out her ACL at the Pacific Coast Champinoships, but the team is still going to be a force to be reckoned with.

“We’ve spent a series of weeks training in a really intense way to get ready for this,” said Haigh. “And if we keep growing and getting better, I think we can finish pretty high.”
