The High School All Americans play their first game of their Argentina tour
on Thursday against the Cordoba Academy.
For the players this will be the first big
shot at their peers from a Tier I country.
That is the attraction for United HS star Zach Webber.
“Playing in a Tier I country will be a challenge,” Webber told
RUGBYMag.com. “When we played Chile and Uruguay we made a... Read More

Thompson set forth a demanding fitness
regimen and put it on the players to report their results.
Regularly and frequently Thompson was in contact with players about how
they were doing, and a little honor system goes a long way, it seems.
Players were very honest, said Thompson, and if they tried to fudge the
results or make it seem as if they had done... Read More
Last summer the High School All Americans toured South America, and came
away with a lot of good feelings. In an intense trip that saw the team play
five internationals in 18 days, and come away with three wins, one close
loss, and one not-close loss, it all seemed to make sense.
But that one not-close... Read More
Obviously, the men’s team has a new coach to hire, and the process is moving
on. Applicants are in and will be undergoing interviews this coming week. No
details yet on who has applied, although RUGBYMag.com has heard of some who

Playing in a deluge, the USA women's 7s team defeated Spain in overtime
10-5 to win Bronze at the Rugby World Cup 7s Sunday in Moscow.
On a day when play was suspended for a time due to thunderstorms, the field
was wet and muddy for the later games. Certainly it was a mudder's course
in the 3rd/4th playoff for the women. Neither team would really get their
offense working... Read More
The United States saw their World Cup hopes cut short by New Zealand and

kickoff cleanly and on the run, and she offloaded to Honey Hireme, who
scored just 15 seconds into the game... Read More
The Eagles quietly bowed out from the World Cup
Sunday, losing 28-5 to Argentina in the Plate Quarterfinals. Aside from a
Zack Test try just before halftime, there wasn’t much on the positive side
for the USA.
Argentina’s Javier Rojas opened scoring against a weakened American side in
the fourth minute, shortly after Folau Niua was sin binned, with a try he
converted himself... Read More
The USA women’s 7s team was top four at the 2009 Rugby World Cup 7s, and
finished, surprisingly, ahead of England.
The same could be true this year, as the Eagles have earned a quarterfinal
spot against Ireland, a tough, physical team that the USA should beat.
Meanwhile, England, by virtue of losing to Russia, will face New

two-score lead over the All Blacks early in the second half, but a
monumental collapse saw New Zealand win 26-19.
New Zealand struck first with a Sherwin... Read More
