We have looked at the results in recent weeks and made our determinations.
Some have fallen out - almost all because of losses to unranked, or
Others have come in, because their leagues are active now.
Granite Bay moves up after a big win over SFGG. West Short and the Barbarians

The top teams in the RUGBYMag.com rankings did well in the recent playoffs.
We make only a couple of small changes. Washington State moves up from 3 to
2 and Shippensburg slips to #3. Really it's a commentary on WSU's
dominance, but it's an argument that will be settled in Stanford in a
couple of weeks.

We had three of the four semifinalists in our top four before the round of
16, and all four of them in our top five.
SDSU was impressive in its dismantling of both Santa Clara and UCSB, but
not quite impressive enough to leapfrog Davenport. Dartmouth did enough to
stand pat No. 3 and Tennessee is back at No. 4 after spending one ranking
period at No. 5.

There are no changes in the top 7 of the RUGBYMag.com D1-A Top 20.
All of those teams did exactly what was expected of them, including #3 Life

Penn State, who were ranked one spot below.
There are some changes further down. Here's why:

Why? Because the Chicago Lions, we felt, were the better team, but hadn't
yet shown it. These rankings have to go by what has happened, not by what
we think will happen.

All of the higher-ranked teams in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic crossovers

So there have been a few growing pains in these HS rankings, as evidenced
by the fact that two teams drop out entirely because they are (just imagine
our surprise) Single-School teams!
We figure, given that all the teams in boys rugby now use high-schoolers
exclusively, we might end up merging these rankings at the end of the
season, and going forward.

Had Navy pulled off a win over Army (Army won 33-31) then we would have had
all sorts of issues, given that Army has, overall, produced the results,
but Navy has already lost to Penn State. So would we have dropped Army down
below Penn State and Navy? Or would we have concluded Navy has improved
enough to wash away that loss to PSU?
Well we didn't have to do that, anyway. The only... Read More
It's crazy, although much of that can be blamed on the fact that High
School Club teams are not U19 anymore - all players have to be in high
school. That has obviously changed the status of some programs, as they
don't have that one or two or three college freshmen available to
