Baltimore-Chesapeake is in 1st place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference after beating Schuylkill River 28-17 Saturday in a key matchup in Maryland.
B-C was paced by No. 8 Tyler Barberi's three tries, while scrumhalf Colby Buss added a try and flyhalf Matt Chiaramonte added three conversions and a penalty.
On a really windy day, the Brumbies kept the ball in tight, and controlled possession well.
"We worked our pod system, and tried to suck in their defense to get it out wide," said Head Coach Steve Elliott. "But the wind made it difficult to go wide. Still, what I was really pleased with was that whenever Schuylkill got going, we got back to our pod system and kept up the pressure. Tyler Barberi had a monster game."
With the victory, Baltimore moves to 5-2, and jumps ahead of idle Norfolk to lead the Mid-Atlantic. Schuylkill drops to 4-3 and stays at 20 points, with the very real possibility of dropping from 2nd to 5th depending on other results from Saturday.
