American International College  thrashed St. Michael’s 47-0 to claim the Rugby Northeast women’s college title.

The game was a virtual carbon copy of the October 28 game between the two, won by AIC 44-0.

“I feel pretty good,” said AIC Head Coach Josh Macy. “It seems no one ever plays their best in a final. We did our best to keep the girls relaxed but nerves were a factor early in the game. Our team was better today though.”

The forwards led the way for AIC with Jess Davis taking full advantage of all that go-forward. She scored twice on eight-player pushovers, and four other times.

With St. Michael’s worried about the AIC pack in the second half, backs Bethany Montague and Mercedes Minaya punished them out wide.

“Our girls exhibited why they've led the league all season,” said Macy. “Our school will celebrate these women for the rest of the semester.”
