It has been a wild couple of weeks in DIA. A number of underdogs picked up wins and across the country we have seen the most parity in a long time.

Rugby East

After beating NDC last weekend, Kutztown gave Penn State all it could handle in a narrow 32-27 loss to the Nittany Lions. Wheeling Jesuit gave Army a tougher than expected game in a 33-21 loss.

Army and Penn State are both undefeated at the moment. These teams will meet on October 27.

Notre Dame, St. Bonaventure and Kutztown all have two losses. Kutztown has played the tough part of its schedule and sits at 1-2 in conference play while NDC and the Bonnies are 2-2. These teams at this point are competing for at large bids to the post season.

Big 10

The Big 10 has been thrown on its head this year. After falling to Wisconsin last week, Indiana lost to Ohio State 26-16. It was a surprise for Indiana to lose one game but a second conference loss sends the Hoosiers towards the bottom of the standings. They most likely will need to win the conference playoffs in order to make the playoffs this year.

Wisconsin is currently 4-0 while the buckeyes are 2-0. Michigan State is also currently 3-1.

Liberty

The Empire division saw two 3-0 teams go at it this weekend. Syracuse edged Binghamton 24-21 to take control of the division. Albany and Binghamton are right on their heels at 3-1.

Iona took control over the I-95 division by beating AIC on Thursday night and Fordham the week prior. The Gaels are 4-0 in conference play.

In the New England, Boston College is quietly creeping up on teams. The Eagles are 3-0 and came away with a 10-8 win over UConn this week. They have a date with 5-1 UMass in a few weeks.

Mid-South

The first game in the Mid-South took place over the weekend with newcomers Navy defeating Clemson 78-14.

Red River

Two games were on the docket in the Red River. Baylor opened its season with a decisive win and Oklahoma moved to 2-1 with a win over Texas Tech.

Rocky Mountain

BYU is now officially in the Rocky Mountain Northwest and is 2-0 after beating Utah State. In the South Colorado State moved to 4-1 after winning a rematch over Colorado last week and edging Air Force for the second time this season on Saturday.

Independents

Notre Dame picked up a win over Arizona’s second side in the Parseghian Cup this past weekend while. Notre Dame is 4-1 and having a solid non-conference season.
