Led by two tries from Seb Sharpe UCLA overcame a 12-5 halftime deficit to beat Utah 38-26 in PAC Rugby Conference action Saturday in St. George, Utah.
With the victory, the Bruins improved to 3-1, and moved ahead of Utah for 2nd in PAC behind 4-0 Cal.
Also Saturday, Arizona State defeated Oregon State 59-5 behind three tries from Adam Sandstrom.
Head Coach Gary Lane praised his Sun Devils for a "good team effort. In wet conditions the guys did a good job to be patient and hold onto the ball. They played smart, patient rugby."
Keenan Mayfield scored two tries and kicked 14 points for a personal haul of 24.
With these results, everyone except Arizona has one conference game left.
Cal will play Utah in a week, with Utah still in position to win the conference. UCLA hosts Arizona, who also has Arizona State and Oregon State to play in later weeks.
