Three Rugby Guys, One Podcast.

Beginning in 2013, the Rugby Guys Podcast was born out of regular guys talking about National and International rugby with a comedic twist. The original two Rugby Guys were Erik Woodworth and John Goodwyn, a couple of Mid-Atlantic players and local comedians. Evan Lappen of Rugby Today joined the crew in 2015 to bring the news element to the show. Now, they convene every couple of weeks to discuss the overall state of rugby, upcoming events, recent scores, and general not-necessarily-related silliness.

With the likes of former USA Eagle hooker Phil Theil, Tui Osborne, Wisconsin RFC’s Max Zukowski, Mystic River’s Josh Smith, and OMBAC’s Jason Wood being on the podcast, the Rugby Guys tackle the hard-hitting topics of today’s rugby, without taking themselves too seriously.

This past Monday night, the Rugby Guys assembled for its 35th episode recapping the USA 7s team performance from Vegas to Vancouver, and the Eagles XVs capturing the America’s Rugby Championship Cup in Argentina. Evan provided audio clips from Eagles Coach Mike Friday, Danny Barrett, Andrew Durutalo, Madison Hughes and USA CEO Dan Payne. Erik and John discuss possibly the best two weeks of USA Rugby ever.
