THE 12 CAPTAINS

Women's Sevens, Japan -  Saturday, April 21 begins the third leg of the HSBC Women's 2017/2018 Sevens circuit after a three-month hiatus since the Sydney Sevens tournament.

In a demonstrable example of perhaps too much sevens, many of the leading teams that recently participated in rugby sevens at the 2018 British Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia, sustained injuries to their star players. Not playing are:

  • Australia: Shani Williams, Ellia Green, Charlotte Caslick
  • Canada: Ghislaine Landry
  • England: Emily Scarratt, Megan Love

The USA squad is intact. Of note, this event will mark the first return of China to the circuit since 2014/2015.

10:58 p.m. ET vs. France (Friday, April 20)

2:04 a.m. ET vs. New Zealand (Saturday, April 21)
