Second Round of Sudamerica Sevens - This weekend, January 13 and 14, will see the second round of the Sudamerica Sevens, a qualifying event for 2018 Rugby World Cup coming to San Francisco in July. The venue takes place in Chile in Viña del Mar. The USA Falcons also compete in this tournament.
Five of the 12 teams entered will compete for two open spots: Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, and Colombia. The top South American team (other than Argentina) to go through will also book a place in the 2018 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Las Vegas and Vancouver as well as a berth in this year's Hong Kong competition. After last week's Punta del Este event, Chile are ahead with 19 points in the overall series standings, Uruguay at 15, and Brazil third with 10 points. The US Falcons finished tenth last week.
Las Vegas Sevens Tickets on Sale - Tickets are moving briskly at the USA Las Vegas Sevens event scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 2, 3, and 4. Past winners are:

The USA Eagles are in 12th place after a disastrous Dubai showing. New Zealand lead with 41 points after winning in Cape Town last month. South Africa trail in second place with 39 points.
HSBC Sydney Sevens - The first of the two Down Under tournaments will be played in Sydney on January 26, 27, and 28. The Women will play in their second event of the new season. The USA Women are in second place after a fine Dubai result.
Penn Mutual Insurance College Rugby Championship Tickets On Sale - The event returns to Talen Energy Stadium Philadelphia, June 2 and 3 in an expanded format for women and men's sevens. Tickets are on sale.
