Perry Baker capped off an impressive year of 7s rugby, taking home the 2017 Men’s 7s Player of the Year Award as part of the World Rugby Awards. The award was announced at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, where Baker was one of three finalists along with Rosko Specman of South Africa and Jerry Tuwai of Fiji.

Baker led the 2016-2017 HSBC World Series in tries and helped team USA to its best ever fifth place finish on the circuit. The USA Rugby Star has improved his overall game, becoming a consistent tackler and an excellent distributor to complement his finishing prowess.

Baker is the first American to ever win the Men’s 7s Player of the Year Award and one of a select few to ever receive an award from World Rugby.
