Though they'd have rather finished in the top eight, the vibes are mostly positive coming off the Eagles' Bowl win at the Gold Coast on the weekend. The breakout debut performance of Perry Baker was the talk of the tournament, as he scored six tries over the two days.

However, it was Zack Test, dotting down seven times, who was named to the Gold Coast Dream Team. Test's seven tries were second only to Samoa's Samoa Toloa. Baker's six were good enough to tie for fourth-most in the tournament.

The draw for the next World Series stop, Dubai Dec. 5-6, sees the Eagles paired in Pool C with Kenya, England and Australia. Mike Friday going up against both of his former teams will undoubtedly be a featured story line heading into the event. A win over England slipped away from the USA in Australia, with Friday's old team breaking a late stalemate in the final minute for the victory.
