Head Coach Mike Tolkin has tabbed his 31-man roster for the Pacific Nations Cup, and the biggest change to the team is Chris Wyles taking the captain's baton from Todd Clever. Clever has served as the skipper since after the 2007 World Cup and is the longest-running captain in Eagle history. Blaine Scully was named vice captain.

“Todd has always looked out for the well being of the squad throughout his tenure as captain and has been an exemplary player on the field before and during his captaincy,” Tolkin said in a press release. “Though he may no longer be serving as captain, Todd will continue to wear the jersey with pride and play the game with passion on the field.

“Blaine’s strong work ethic and athletic abilities have made him a successful international player and a leader among the squad."

Tolkin will have a nearly full assault of players for the PNC, with the Aviva Premiership allowing its Americans to represent their country outside the World Cup window. Their participation wasn't always without doubt. Not available is Samu Manoa, who is making the move to Toulon after the RWC to become the highest paid American rugby player in history. He will be available for the Eagles beginning in August, when the RWC window officially opens.
