The Boys DI high school playoffs are underway in Colorado with seven squads vying for a chance to play the May 10th state final at Infinity Park in Glendale Colorado. After an undefeated season, the Colorado Springs Grizzlies earned the top seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
Quarterfinal action took place last weekend with the number two seeded Aurora Saracens taking on Chaparral, East battling Littleton and Regis facing Cherry Creek.
Rugbymag's 24th ranked Aurora easily dispatched Chaparral 54-8 while East had little trouble with Littleton winning 50-12. The four-five matchup was the tightest contest seeing fifth seeded Cherry Creek upset number four Regis 19-10.
The semifinals are slated for May 3rd. Colorado Springs will play Cherry Creek and Aurora will take on East.
If all goes as expected, it will be a rematch of two ranked teams in the Colorado State Final on May 10th. Currently ranked 5th in Rugbymag's High School Club Rankings, Colorado Springs will most likely see a rematch with Aurora. In their first meeting, Colorado Springs narrowly defeated Aurora 12-7.
