In one of the bigger games on the docket in boys high school rugby, Jesuit of Sacramento defeated undefeated Dixon 44-10.
Jesuit Head Coach John Shorey was pleased with his team's effort, especially as the Jesuit 2nd team is in the Northern California HS club league and vying for a potential playoff spot, as well.
"It was a pretty windy day and we were able to use that to our advantage," said Shorey. "Dixon is a strong team but I think they were missing a couple of players. We hope to be able to see them again in the Northern California final, and in the NIT, and we expect them to be very tough."
With the victory, Jesuit is 4-0, while Dixon drops to 6-1. Dixon's regular season is done as they leave soon for a tour of Argentina. Jesuit has three games left, against Bellarmine, De La Salle, and PITT. De La Salle went into this weekend 4-1, while Bellarmine and PITT were a combined 1-7.
