A dark cloud of gloom hangs over South Africa today.

The vaunted Springboks, twice winner of the Rugby World Cup, lost 57-0 to the All Blacks in the first of their two 2017 Rugby Championship Tests. The game played in North Harbor Stadium.

It was the All Blacks largest home game margin of victory over their most successful one-on-one opponent. Further, it topped by 15-points, the rout last year in Dunedin when the Kiwis prevailed 57-15. Tally to New Zealand of these past two home matches: 114 for and 15 against for the number one ranked side in the world.

The All Blacks romped in with eight-tries, three coming long distance. They led 31-0 at the break and an impenetrable defense contributed to the whitewash.

New Zealand are 4-0 in the Rugby Championship with South Africa at 2-1-1, Australia are 1-2-1, and Argentina at 0-4.

The 2019 World Rugby World Cup begins in two-years and two-days from today. Who can beat the All Blacks remains, as always, the key question?
