Americans are active overseas as their respective clubs get ready for the season.

Chris Wyles was on the wing for Saracens as his club lost a preseason match 14-11 Friday evening to Treviso. Wyles spent part of the summer playing 7s for Saracens (see photo), and is now looking ahead to a Premiership opener at Twickenham September 1.

Also in the Premiership, Samu Manoa will start at blindside flanker for Northampton in a preseason match against Leinster Saturday.

Also in action this Saturday, Taku Ngwenya starts at wing for Biarritz against Mont-de-Marsan, while Scott LaValla dons the #7 jersey for Stade Francais as they play Montpellier. Both of these are league games, as the long, arduous French season gets going.

And in Japan, Todd Clever and NTT will take on Kyushu Electric Power in a preseason game.

These are fewer Americans playing overseas this fall than there were last fall, as some of those overseas – Andrew Suniula, Chris Biller, Shawn Pittman, and more - look to finalize new deals.
