Guayana won the men's North American Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) 7s championships, defeating Cayman Islands 31-0 in horrible conditions.
The two-day tournament suffered heavy downpours on Saturday, making the main field a muddy mess for all of Sunday, especially the final. Guyana's ball handling and speed were better than anyone else's, however, and led by Claudius Butts, they put Cayman away easily.
With the victory, Guyana earns a spot at the 2012 Hong Kong 7s.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Women's Developmental team won easily over Jamaica to claim the women's title.
USA Rugby did not send a national or developmental team to this tournament in Barbados. However, USA Rugby South sent all-star teams. The woomen's finished 4th, losing a 10-0 lead to Trinidad & Tobago in the consolation final. The men did not make the top six.
