Blaine Scully's Leicester Tigers fell 22-19 to the London Irish Saturday, but the Cal Bear started on the wing. Scully has been named to a Leicester 22 for only two of the Tigers' four games so far this season, but both were starts. Lots of Leicester Academy players got run on the weekend, as several Tigers were unavailable.
Since Scully joined the team last season, the press he's received has been exclusively positive. In addition to being named Saturday's man-of-the-match by the Tigers, he received more praise from the Leicester Mercury:
"Blaine Scully is a revelation, particularly in the air. It is difficult to see how he can be kept out of the side given his performance."
In his second year with Leicester, Scully appears to be joining Samu Manoa and Chris Wyles as Eagles getting semi-regular playing time in the Premiership.
