A mixed USA side will take on a strengthened Glendale side 6pm MT at Infinity Park tonight. The match is an effort to get some of the reserves and fringe players some action, as well as an opportunity to work on the team’s continuity on an otherwise off weekend.

Glendale’s side will likely be strengthened by some of the fringe players in Eagle camp, like Will Scott, a Californian back rower who is now playing and training At Trinity in Dublin. Scott paid his own way to get to camp.

“He’s a good enough player we wanted to see him in camp,” said Eagles coach Mike Tolkin of Scott. “But he was outside of the 30 in terms of the depth pool.”

It’s possible that Zach Fenoglio, Shaun Davies and James Paterson, regular Raptors, will wear blue and white hoops in the game, to help make it as competitive a match as possible.

The outside center position is wide open for the Ireland game, with Troy Hall having suffered a torn ACL. So if Seamus Kelly and Blaine Scully get action, perhaps whoever is in better form will get the nod in Houston in a little over a week.
