The New Haven Bulldogs are a brand new 7s-only team that came to fruition this year by founders David Fischer and Mike Newcomer. Their goal was to create an elite 7s program that can help develop players to bring them to the next level. The roster this summer features a combination local players and new recruits that are relocating from other parts of the country.

“This is our first season and we have a phenomenal group of athletes,” said Head Coach John Broker. “I am looking forward to working with the team to create an environment that will help them succeed.”

Players To Watch
Marcus Satavu:
The capped USA 7s Eagle will captain the Bulldogs this summer. Satavu traveled with the USA team to Hong Kong and Japan for the Sevens World Series this year. A very powerful ball carrier that can run through tackles with ease, Satavu will be seen mostly in the centers.

Elliott Wangaard: Wangaard, who played for Old Blue last summer, is a shifty back that will be seen mostly at flyhalf. He is very elusive with the ability to move defenders and create space for his teammates.

Richard Kirkland: Kirkland had debatably the best play of the Super Sevens Exhibition, where ran about 50 meters across the field to catch an Ontario player just short of the try line. He is an extremely gifted athlete that has blazing speed and plays with a lot of heart.

David Hightower: Hightower is a track athlete from Rider University that will play in the forwards.

Fili Botitu: The former OPSB speedster brings valued experience to this new squad.

Peceli Rinakama: Rinakama is another talented player from the west coast who has played 7s for Glendale and Aspen and 15s for the Sacramento Lions. Look for him to be a large contributor to this New Haven squad.
