Robert Stortz diving in for Kutztown

Morris had a strong season in 2013 and finished in the middle of the standings. This season they return a core group of players, while also welcoming several new college players into their lineup.

“The program has gained more experience,” said Head Coach Paul Presinzano. “We look to improve in the standings from last year and move up from the middle of the pack.”

Returning players to watch:
Robert Stortz: The Collegiate 7s All American returns to the pitch this summer after suffering a torn ACL during his fall season at Kutztown. The scrumhalf was the leading scorer for Morris last summer. He is incredibly fit and has the ability to create line breaks anytime he has the ball in his hands.

David Rebels: Rebels is an extremely ubiquitous player. He is an offensive and defensive standout that can be found in either the backs or the forwards.

Nicholas Somers: The 230-pound prop plays with a lot of intensity and is incredibly fast for his size. Look for Somers to be top try scorer for Morris.

Corey Petermann: The winger’s blazing speed proves useful when running the ball in space on the outside. He is very aggressive and a heavy hitter in defense.

Cale Petermann: Cale is likely to miss the beginning of the season due to a knee injury; however, he was a consistent contributor to Morris in the forwards last season.

Dave Cunha: The center is a strong ball carrier with the ability to break tackles and drag defenders.

David Stasiak:  The prop is a force in the contact area and contests the ball in the air on restarts.

Notable New Players
Kevin Corley: The St. Bonaventure graduate just finished a great collegiate career. The former NJ Blaze standout will contribute heavily to Morris this summer in both the backs and the forwards.

Donovan Deysel: Donovan is a player-coach for Morris who grew up playing in South Africa. He brings great size and experience to this Morris side.

Notable Players that will NOT be returning this season
Steven Saba: Sidelined with a shoulder injury.
