The long awaited sevens debut for world famous All Black Sonny Bill Williams will happen this weekend in Wellington. Williams was named to the New Zealand 7s squad for the first time, having switched to the abbreviated code after the conclusion of the World Cup. He is joined in the Wllington side by fellow 15s All Black Augustine Pulu and Ben Lam, who took the Series by storm a couple of years ago.

While it's been known for some time that Toulon would release Australia star Quade Cooper for Olympic duty at some point, news broke last week of exactly when we'd see Cooper in the open field. He will play in the upcoming leg of the World Series in Sydney next week, as well as the final two tournaments of the season in Paris and London.

Williams and Cooper are by far the two biggest names to pick up 7s. Former All Black Tim Nanai-Williams booted up for Samoa last year, and Francois Hougaard and Juan de Jongh are with the Blitzbokke this season. But none of them have the star power, or potentially on-field impact, as Williams and Cooper.

As well, Humphrey Kayange is set to return to action with Kenya in Wellington. He ranks ninth in all-time World Series tries, and he'll bring some valued experience to a dangerous Kenyan side.
