England Women

The Six Nations European Championship completed its fourth round with England Men and England Women on tap to take the 2016 titles. One final round remains to be played this weekend.

Women

The Red Roses defeated Wales 20-13 to remain undefeated and on top of the standings at 4-0. This sets up a showdown with France, currently 3-1, who beat Scotland 24-0. The game will be at home for Les Bleues. In the other contest, Ireland defeated Italy 14-3.

Men

England, the World Cup disappointment, clinched the European Six Nations championship by beating rival Wales 25-21. Currently, England is 4-0 and even a loss to France next week away at the Stade Francais in Paris, would not affect their victory. No other team can equal England’s eight points.

Ireland and Wales are tied at five points, each 2-1-1, and both show losses to England this year. Wales have the easier ending with Italy, while Ireland must play a Scottish XV that rejoiced after a 29-18 win over France.

The new England Men’s Coach Eddie Jones can bask in the glory should England achieve an undefeated season (The Grand Slam), having already won the Triple Crown by defeating the other three Home Nations (Scotland, Ireland, and Wales).
