The All Blacks achieved their sixteenth straight Test match victory with a 36-17 win over Argentina in Buenos Aires. The record is 18 in a row, and the New Zealanders are well within range of this milestone.
New Zealand went ahead 29-3 at the half off of four tries. Los Pumas outscored the visitors 14-7 in the second half but the rally fell short. Argentina have never beaten their southern hemisphere rival.
Meanwhile, South Africa broke a three game losing streak, defeating Australia 18-10 at home in Pretoria. All of the Springbok’s points came off the boot of Morne Steyn who had four penalties and two drop goals. South Africa were ahead 12-10 at the break, and a sluggish Wallaby side could not muster any offense in the second half. Reese Hodge, Aussie winger, missed two of three penalties, one, a 64-meter bomb that failed one meter shert under the crossbar.
The Rugby Championship standings to date are New Zealand 5-0, Australia 2-3, South Africa 2-3, and Argentina 1-4.
