On a relatively quiet weekend for international rugby, Wales Women defeated Scotland 15-0 in Cardiff Arms Park. It was Wales' first autumn Test victory since 2005.
The Welsh side have already booked a place in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup to be played in Ireland during the month of August. England Women were the last 2014 WRWC victors, defeating Canada for the championship.
In the weekend match, Wales scored three unconverted tries, all from overlaps and smart offloads. Scotland threatened but never managed to score.
Wales will continue its tune up in two weeks, playing against a combined UK Armed Forces XV on November 16, again at Cardiff Arms Park,
The Scots will face off against Spain in a two-legged contest, the winner qualifies for the WRWC. In the past ten years of the Six Nations’ tournament, Scotland have finished on the bottom of the table seven times, including the past six tournaments.
