Team USA head coach Mike Friday, captain Madison Hughes and stars Perry Baker and Danny Barrett will be in attendance at the 2017 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship June 3-4, and there will be two opportunities to interact and learn from them. Saturday, there will be a Q&A on the mian stage just outside Talen Energy Stadium, and Sunday there will be an attack clinic on the Academy field just outside the stadium. Participation in both events is free with the purchase of a CRC ticket each day.

The Q&A is slated to take about 45 minutes beginning at approximately 1 p.m. ET Saturday. The panel will discuss a wide variety of topics including the Olympic experience and secrets to success, as well as fielding questions from the crowd. The attacking clinic, 11:20 a.m.-12:20 p.m., will provide observers a chance to learn from Friday and his charges on the pitch.

“We will aim to provide players with an insight and understanding of the attacking framework that the USA Men’s 7’s Team execute when playing on the HSBC Sevens World Series. We will break down the various components within the framework and then piece them back together so that the players can utilize the entire pitch and move the ball efficiently and effectively side to side to try and manipulate a defense," said Friday.

"We will look at a number of areas such as depth, compression, realignment, triggers as well as how we look to manipulate the space on the outside to recycle/regenerate possession to move the ball to another area of the pitch. Players need to be fit and comfortable passing off their left and right hand over 10 to 15 meters at pace as that is the foundation upon which being a successful rugby player in 7’s is built.”
