The fall season is coming to a close and the DI rankings are getting confusing. A number of teams have logged quality wins but struggled against weaker opponents. It is showing the gaps within college rugby are getting smaller and making our jobs more difficult.
The biggest noise from the weekend came via Navy. The Midshipmen bested undefeated Penn State 38-29 and move up to sixth overall. The Nittany Lions drop to nine.
Notre Dame College is one of the tougher teams to rank. They lost close games against Penn State and Navy but fell to Wheeling Jesuit, all be it on the second of a back-to-back. They also picked up wins against Army and Kutztown. The Falcons slot in at number 12.
Davenport fell to St. Bonaventure and falls out of the rankings.
Some of the west coast teams and spring heavy seasons are starting to get under way. That will give us a better idea where some of those teams stand.
