California versus University of British Columbia - This Saturday, the Bears (12-0) host the Thunderbirds (16-4) from the University of British Columbia in a two match, home and away contest that historically denotes the unofficial college rugby championship of North America. The contest awards the rugby "World Cup" to the winner in an aggregate tally, stemming from the scores of the two games. The "World" in this instance represents the World Newspaper of Vancouver. This annual match started in 1921.  Cal will journey north for the second game March 4. UBC plays a combined college and club schedule and its roster includes many older players with international experience.

Six Nations, Round Three - This weekend is the midway point in the 2018 Six Nations Championship for Women and Men.

Women - England lead France on points difference, and both will face opponents without a win.

Friday - Scotland (0-2) vs. England (2-0) at Scotstoun

Saturday - France (2-0) vs. Italy (0-2) at Stade Furiani

Saturday - Ireland (1-1) vs. Wales (1-1) at Donneybrook

Men - England and Ireland, without a loss in the first two rounds, face the two other Home Country opponents.

Friday - France (0-2) vs. Italy (0-2) at Orange Velodrome

Saturday - Ireland (2-0) vs. Wales (1-1) at Aviva

Las Vegas Sevens - The HSBC World Rugby circuit tournament is in Las Vegas March 2,3, and 4 will witness the Las Vegas Invitational set a new record for teams with over 275 clubs committed in all categories. The weather looks fine for this event.
