On Saturday, May 5, the finals of the European Championship Cup will be contested between the top two professional teams, Racing 92 from France and Leinster from Ireland. These fifteens have battled through qualifying pools, quarter final, and semi final rounds to reach the deciding game. The match will be played in Bilbao, Spain, inside the San Mamés Stadium with a capacity of 53,000.
Leinster, a past three-time winner of this championship, defeated Scarlets (Wales) 38-16 at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, in front of a 48,000 partisan Irish crowd. Leinster were the winners of the Conference B title in the Guinness Pro League.
The Paris-based Racing 92 finished third in the French Top 14 League. Last week, they beat Munster (Ireland) narrowly 27-25 in France at Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux with gate attendance of 25,000.
Leinster hold a 2-0, head to head win record against Racing 92 with ten tries to two, and outscoring their French opponents 74-33.
