In June of 1999, Berkeley All-Blues and Beantown met in the finals of the Women’s Club Championship with the California fifteen earning its third championship in a row. The win was decisive at 32-10. The contest was played at the Chicago Blaze rugby facility in Lamont, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.

The top four Women's club sides competed for the Cup: Beantown, Berkeley, Emerald City Mudhens from Seattle, and the Maryland Stingers. Playing in the second tier Plate Davison were the Minnesota Valkyries, New York RFC, Twin City Amazons, and Wisconsin.

In the Cup semis, Beantown triumphed over a stubborn Maryland side wining 17-12. Berkeley routed the Mudhens 67-0 to set up the bi-coastal final. The All-Blues led by 22-0 at the half and cruised in for the victory. Maryland pasted the Mudhens 107-0 in the Consolation match.

In the Plate Division, New York eked out a 13-10 victory against the Valkyries and the Amazons beat Wisconsin 20-5 to claim third place in the Plate.

Of note was the special presentation of the Marci Borge Memorial Award to honor the service of this Midwest administrator.
