The Glendale Raptors have clinched a spot in the Pacific Rugby Premiership with a 24-14 defeat of OMBAC in San Diego.
Glendale got four tries, one each from Doug Graves, Brett Willis, Dustin Croy, and Preston Bryant in the victory, which also eliminated OMBAC from contention for the championship game May 17 in Glendale.
SFGG won 64-28 over Olympic Club and are very close to securing the other place in the final. They can be caught by Belmont Shore, but only if Shore wins out and SFGG loses out.
The Denver Barbarians returned to .500 with a 52-34 defeat of Santa Monica.
As the season has progressed defenses have suffered. Through the first seven weeks of the season, the league was averaging 52 points scored per game. In the last five weeks, the total points per game is just under 71.
