Virginia Tech at the 2014 tournament. Todd Bauders Contrast Photography

Just two tournaments remain in the college 7s season, USA Rugby's College 7s National Championships May 23-24 in Denver and the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship May 30-31 in Philadelphia. While we haven't posted 7s rankings in a month, there have been just a couple weekends' worth of major tournaments in that time, but they've shaken up the rankings.

Alabama, Arkansas, Miami (OH) and Texas A&M all catapult into the Top 25 after winning conference titles. Some teams had to be pushed aside to make room. However, even though South Carolina and Bowling Green fell prey to a couple of the newcomers in conference championship tournaments, they remain in the rankings thanks to multiple solid performances throughout the spring. Same with Notre Dame, who finished fifth at the Atlantic Coast tournament, but won a couple of events in the previous months.
