Had Navy pulled off a win over Army (Army won 33-31) then we would have had all sorts of issues, given that Army has, overall, produced the results, but Navy has already lost to Penn State. So would we have dropped Army down below Penn State and Navy? Or would we have concluded Navy has improved enough to wash away that loss to PSU?

Well we didn't have to do that, anyway. The only upset as far as the rankings were concerns - and remember we thought this might happen - is UCLA beating Central Washington in Ellensburg.

The Bruins have to move up ahead of CWU. That's obvious.

The only other changes are that UCLA's good fortune means Texas A&M moves down one. We could have moved Arizona State and Delaware each down one.  But Delaware, despite losing, keeps showing how competitive they are, while ASU, while a tough nut to crack, were beaten convincingly by Arizona.

So in the end ASU drops down two, and Delaware stays where they were.

Move up Notre Dame after they won? No. The Irish beat Oklahoma, but Oklahoma beat the Irish earlier.
