No. 2 Kutztown drops too as they lost to Penn State in the Halloween 7s. They drop to below Penn State (new into the rankings after not playing much … there’s that idleness penalty again), and are kept in a virtually three-way tie with PSU and Delaware. UCLA moves up a little, perhaps not as much as we’d like, while Texas A&M also gets a bump.

But the really good news is that the top seven has expanded to about a top 14. This was a very hard rankings to do, as more teams are starting to show their quality.

Dropping out are Texas, due to less-than-stellar results, and Middlebury and Northeastern (not playing enough). Coming in along with Penn State are Arizona State (4th among Pac 12 schools, and beat Cal in pool play), and Oklahoma (good recent results). Santa Barbara City College won at Long Beach. They could have moved in, as well, but we will wait.
