Former Mid-Atlantic RFU president Elaine Recchiuti is reportedly about to be released from federal prison, as the remaining two-thirds of her 19-month sentence for embezzlement has been suspended.

Recchiuti and former MARFU treasurer Pat Costello both pled guilty to misusing MARFU funds during 2005. Costello avoided jail time, having his sentence suspended for two years. Recchiuti was given 19 months in federal prison for what appeared to be the same crime.

According to friends of Recchiuti, she is about to be released and will be on parole for ten years. This followed a parole hearing where many friends submitted letters of support for the former national board member.
