The Denver Barbarians have informed the Glendale Raptors that they will be forfeiting this weekend’s West-North DI league match due to lack of numbers. Injuries have stressed an already shallow Denver club, which is also competing in the Super League.

It is unclear right now whether Denver is dropping out of DI altogether (and therefore not participating in the West playoffs). However, that is apparently a distinct possibility.

Denver now falls to 4-4, and can finish no higher than third in the West-North.

(In a note to RUGBYMag.com, Barbarians GM Rob O'Connor said Denver did not forfeit; they merely cancelled the match. He said the cancellation has to do with changes in rules governing who can play DI and who can play Super League.)
