We are down to eight teams in the men’s DII Club playoffs. While some regional playoffs were held over several weekends and others on back-to-back days, we are set for the two regional matchups.
In the western regional (Dallas), Tempe will battle Glendale while Snake River will face Little Rock.
Tempe handily defeated Oceanside 62-8 after beating fellow Arizona rival Red Mountain for the third time this season.
Glendale eliminated the St. Louis Bombers and Park City to set up the matchup with Tempe.
In the other half of the regional, Snake River edged the Sacramento Blackhawks and will meet Red River champion Little Rock. Little Rock defeated HURT in a bruising encounter last weekend.
The winners of each matchup will play Sunday for a berth in the final four.
The Eastern regional (Pittsburgh) features four strong teams including the last year’s national title winner, Wisconsin. Rocky Gorge, New Haven and Atlanta Old White round out this regional.
Wisconsin defeated the Detroit Tradesmen while Rocky Gorge eliminated 2013 runner up Wilmington, to set up this marquee matchup.
In back-to-back days, Atlanta Old White knocked off two undefeated teams to earn the right to take on New Haven. Atlanta turned the tables on Charlotte in their third meeting of the season and then defeated Chattanooga.
New Haven defeated Portland and Monmouth en route to the elite eight.
The quarterfinals and semis will take place March 17th and 18th with the final set for June 1st.
