The Houston Area Rugby Club claimed their first league win of the season, downing the Dallas Reds 29-15 in Texas DI club action Saturday.

HARC was paced by No. 8 and former Texas A&M standout Chris Parker, who "did all the hard work for us," said Head Coach Chris Bradshaw. Also solid for the team was wing Thibaut Drevet.

"We played well in patches, but in those patches we played very well," said Bradshaw. "We recycled the ball well and applied good pressure and moved them around the park. That's when we scored our tries. But when we went to sleep a bit, which we did once in the first half and once in the second half, we let them back in it."

Dallas president Jeff Kolberg said his team did not play particularly well, but added "hats off to Houston, because they did play well and deserved to win."

Flankers Mike Kenealy and Jeremy Neilson had good days for Dallas, and Zach Taylor stepped up at flyhalf after starter Peter Clifford went down with an injury, but overall, said Kolberg, the Dallas team lost the plot, and Houston found it.

Dallas drops to 1-2, while Houston improves to 1-2.
