The DII competition in Florida didn’t waste any time returning to action from the holidays, with three games being played Saturday. Two were blowouts, keeping the Tampa Bay Krewe and Boca Raton atop the league table.

Krewe moved to 3-0-1 with a 46-16 defeat of Jacksonville in Tampa Bay. The former DII National Champs led 34-0 at halftime and comfortably secured a bonus point.

Boca Raton improved to 3-0-1 with a 38-3 defeat of the Miami Tridents, picking up a bonus point and ending the Tridents’ three-game winning streak.

Fort Lauderdale sneaked past Miami 16-14 in the lone close game of the week. The win pulls Fort Lauderdale, now 2-4, off the league floor and pushes 1-4 Miami into last place.

The top two teams in Florida advance to the South quarterfinals in April.
