Defending CRC champions Dartmouth moved to 2-0 with a workmanlike defeat of Wisconsin 31-5.
Paced by the shifty running of Madison Hughes and with Neil Greene, Wilson Chockley and Kevin Clark also touching down, the Big Green have put themselves into position to win their pool, if they can get by Arizona.
“Two victories are good, that’s as well as we can do,” said Dartmouth captain Justin Ciambella. “I think that we’ve improved in each game we’ve played and we need to keep doing that.”
Dartmouth won the last two years in part because they had 6-5 Nate Brakeley winning lineouts and restarts for them. Brakeley graduated, but they have reloaded with Ryan Galloway.
“He has stepped up huge for someone who has just started playing rugby,” said Ciambella. “We’ve built our game plan around the players we have and it’s going well.”
