The 2nd anual Havana Howlers 7s, jointly organized and by Cuban Rugby and the Dog River Howlers Rugby Club, will be played in Havana, Cuba on December 2 and 3.

This tournament had it's roots in the first ever 7s tournament played in Cuba which was part of the Alba Games, played in Jiguana on April 18, 2009.

The inaugural Havana Howlers 7s, featured 10 men's sides from 5 countries in including three national teams, Venezuela, Mexico and Cuba.

As part of this year's event, there will be women's division, a first for Cuban rugby. The Cuban women's team, made up of high-level athletes from other sports, has only started training this year and will make history when they play in their first ever tournament. The men's division features 10 sides from 7 countries.

Cuban 7s rugby has developed leaps and bounds in a very short period time and to that point in last years tournament they defeated the Mexican National Team. Now with the inclusion of 7s rugby in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, Cuba is putting more effort behind the sport.
