The schedule for the USA 7s international rugby tournament won’t be known until February 4, as the draw and pools are decided in the final hour of the New Zealand 7s in Wellington the week before.

But the bare bones timing of the Las Vegas event February 10-12 is indeed known.

On Friday, February 10, the first pool games begin at 4pm at Sam Boyd Stadium. Games are held every 22 minutes until just before 10pm.

If 4pm is too late a start, the USA 7s Festival, with games and food and music, will be open earlier, and the Las Vegas Invitational will have games throughout the morning and early afternoon on the nearby Star Nursery and Silverbowl fields.

On Saturday, February 11, the remaining round of pool games begins at noon at Sam Boyd Stadium.

Just before 3pm the Sevens World Series teams take a break for the Women’s International 7s semifinals. Then, starting at 4:24 pm, the Bowl Quarterfinals start, with a break at 5:30 for two LVI games, the Elite 7s Final and CRC Qualifier Final. The Cup Quarterfinals conclude just before 7:30pm.

That ends the play for Saturday, giving fans plenty of time to take their shuttles back to the hotels and to enjoy the city of Las Vegas.

On Sunday, the competition concludes with the semifinals and finals for all brackets. The first Shield Semifinal is at 9:20am, followed by semis for the Bowl, Plate and Cup.

At 12:16, the Women’s International final will be held, followed, in sequence, by the Shield Final, Bowl Final, Plate Final, 3rd/4th playoff and, at 2:25 pm, the Championship Game.

Before the tournament there will be the Parade of nations and Opening Ceremonies on Fremont Street Thursday evening (Feb. 9) at 6:30pm, followed by a block party.

On Friday night there’s the official LVI/USA 7s Kick Off Party at Sunset Station Casino, as well as the US Rugby Football Foundation slots and poker tournaments.

On Saturday, reggae band Fiji will perform at Sunset Station, while Ali Campbell of UB40 will perform at Planet Hollywood.

On Sunday night, Planet Hollywood will host the official tournament Wrap Party starting at 7pm.
