The Dog River Howlers got up early, four tries-to-one, against the Denver Barbarians in the last Men's Elite match of Day One. But, the Barbos scored two quick tries in the meat of the second half to reach 21 points.

There was some ambiguous scoring and missed obvious penalties, like Denver having eight men on the field while scoring a try. The Barbos then had what would have been a game-winning try held up. And then there's what you'll see in the video below -- some borderline tackles of desperation by Denver's Maximo DeAchaval.

The end result? A 22-21 win for the Howlers. RUGBYMag's Pat Clifton chats with the Dog River captain after the highlights.
