The Canadian Women’s fifteen are on the verge of capturing the first Women's Rugby Super Series after routing the USA Eagles 33-5 in Salt Lake City. The Canadian side now has two victories in a row, and also earned their second bonus point. A win against France (1-1) would give Canada a clean sweep of the four-nation tournament.
The Eagles down only 7-5 at the break seemed listless in the second half and never managed to mount a dynamic offence. The USA dropped to 0-2 after the initial 19-13 loss to France on July 1.
England defeated Les Bleues 17-13 in the second contest to go 1-1 in the event. The Red Roses and the Eagles will play the third, and final match, this Saturday, as will Canada against France.
These four sides are gearing up for the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland next year.
