The singular rugby world event scheduled for 2017 will be the eighth Women’s World Cup to be played in Dublin and Belfast beginning August 9.
The USA are in a pool with Italy, England, and Spain, and will try to improve on their sixth place finish in 2014 when the Eagles lost to New Zealand in the consolation round. England won that last tournament, beating Canada in the final. The host French team beat out Ireland for third place.
For fans going to root for the Eagles, it’s important to point out that all the pool games will be played in Dublin at the University College Dublin (UCD) stadium. The semi-finals and finals on August 26 will be played in Belfast at Kingspan Stadium (18,000 capacity)
Train time from Dublin to Belfast = 2 hours 45 minutes.
Currency: Euros in Dublin, British pounds in Belfast.
Remember that World Rugby is located in Dublin so this should be an easy event to manage.
