The Spanish Women’s 7s team booked a ticket for Rio’s August Olympics, defeating co-favorite Russia 19-12 in the World Rugby repechage tournament held this past weekend in Dublin.

Spain went through the even undefeated, and had an easy 28-0 win over upset minded Kazakhstan in the semi-final round. Russia defeated a pesky Ireland team 19-10.

Las Leones led the Lady Bears 14-7 at halftime, and each team scored a try in the second half without conversion.

The Spanish captain said, "A dream come true. We go to Rio."

The win marked the second Spanish 7s repechage victory for a final Olympic spot, the Spanish men having been victorious in Monaco.
