The French Women defeated the USA 31-6 yesterday for the second time this week on a wet pitch in Montpelier, France. The Eagles failed to score a try, making two penalty kicks. Previously this week, Les Bleues won 36-10 in a six-try win.

The USA, ranked seventh, need to kick up their game against the top six (New Zealand, Canada, England, France, Ireland, and Australia) if they are to gain a medal at the 2017 Women’s RWC in Ireland this August.

Spain Women on to WRWC

The Spanish Women booked a place in the WRWC by defeating Scotland for the second time, 15-10 in Madrid. Spain had won previously 10-5. Women's rugby in Spain is enjoying a renaissance, their sevens team was the final Olympic qualifier this past summer in Rio.
